Matthew Hayes
Matthew Hayes graduated with a degree in photojournalism from the University of Montana in 2004. The majority of his work documents rural life and culture within the Rocky Mountain regions of Idaho and Montana, USA. He has executed assignments and commissions for a variety of editorial, commercial and private clientele.
His photography has been exhibited in multiple venues including the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, The Jones Center in Austin, Texas, and Sun Valley Museum of Art in Ketchum, Idaho. Numerous organizations have also recognized his work including the Magenta Foundation, Foto Forum Santa Fe, National Press Photographers Association and the Gordon Parks International Photography Contest. Most recently, his debut monograph The Western Edge was published after being named a winner in the 2024 Eyeshot Open Call.
He is based in Montana and is available for assignment or commission.
